Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services (ADAMhs) Board of Huron County: Benefits
information provided by: Huron County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMhs)
Since the cost of healthcare can be a significant barrier to persons obtaining needed treatment, the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMhs) Board of Huron County provides financial assistance for county residents in need of behavioral healthcare services as follows:
Q. How expensive are diagnostic assessments for kids and teens?
A. There are no-out-of-pocket costs to parents for any mental health or chemical dependency diagnostic assessment of a Huron County youth at Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services of Huron County (419-663-3737). Huron County has the only Board in Ohio that offers this benefit. Although private insurances are billed, co-payments and deductibles will be covered by the Board, which may save a family about $150, the cost of a typical intake assessment.
Q. Are diagnostic assessments for adults and continued services for youths and adults AFFORDABLE?
A. Your ADAMhs levy dollars are at work so that services for youths and adults from Board-contract agencies are all Board-supported to some extent for Huron County residents.
For Huron County residents, the Board pays at least 10% of the cost of mental health or chemical dependency treatment provided by Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services of Huron County (419-663-3737 or 800-242-5393) for youths and adults. The Board’s sliding fee schedule is utilized to calculate a higher percentage of Board support when necessary. Medicaid-or Title XX-recipients will have the full cost of services covered.
Community support services, provided to adults and youths who are severely disabled by thought or mood disorders, are Board-paid.
Chemical dependency treatment services may be paid from an Indigent Drivers Alcohol Treatment Fund if a person is determined appropriate for this by Norwalk or Bellevue Municipal Courts or by the Huron County Juvenile Court.
Private insurances are accepted.
